The process configuration is determined mainly by the choice of materials used in the elements and small adaptations on the outside of the cubes. This resulted in the following main building blocks in our systems:
Hybrid|cube: |
The Hybrid|cube forms the backbone of the Aqua|still – hybrid process configuration where both the membrane and the heat recovery processes take place in the same process unit. |
|
Aqua|cube: |
The Aqua|cube is used in the Aquastill – flex configuration where so-called direct contact membrane distillation takes place due to the temperature difference over the hydrophobic membrane. |
|
Heat|cube: |
The reason the Heat|cube was added to the product portfolio of Aqua|still was the existence of aggressive media and the need for cheap heat exchangers to introduce the waste heat into the system. |
|
HX|cube: |
To provide our customer with the full range of basic building blocks for membrane distillation small changes of the Heat|cube resulted in the HX|cube. The HX|cube must be hydraulically aligned with the Aqua|cube. and is used as heat exchanger in the Aquastill - flex configuration. |
|
Cool|cube: |
The Cool|cube is an additional block that is used for further cooling of the water produced by the Aqua|cube. Seawater is used as cooling medium. |
The patented cubes are all constructed in the same way on a fully automated production machine.
Because of this uniform construction design a full range of other application areas are made possible. With minor changes our cubes can also be applied for example in air treatment and extraction areas. See the chapter future|cubes.
