Aqua|still's modular building approach in designing and building pre-packaged plants keeps costs as low as possible and delivery times as short as possible. Modular, flexible and expandable were criteria taken into account during the whole engineering period.
From a technical point of view a pre-packaged Aqua|still plant can be regarded at four functional levels:
Pre-packaged plant: |
A plant consists of one or several sea container frames which saves time and money in design, building, transportation, installation, commissioning and if necessary replacement. Depending on the size and process configuration of the plant the sea container(s) contains Membrane modules, Heat exchanger modules, ancilliary equipment and/or a control room. |
|
Modules: |
A module is formed by two end plates with connections for piping and several interconnected standardized cubes. The whole module is held together by treaded rods. |
|
Cubes: |
A cube contains one or more elements in a plastic box and headers for supplying and discharging waterflows. The design of the Cubes prevents the loss of water and heat to the enviroment. The cube is specially designed to be resistant to temperatures (up to 90 °C), pump pressures (up to 1,5 bar) and aggressive media (such as seawater) |
|
Elements: |
The basic concept of the process is hidden in the elements. These elements provide membrane and/or heat exchanger channels which allow mass and/or heat transfer between the different media. The right combination of high performance plastic materials is the critical success factor in the process. |
